Reasons and Excuses

This is a list of some of the excuses sometimes uttered by archers on the field when things don't quite go their way. If you can think of anymore excuses to add to this page please email them to the webmaster.

• My limbs were on upside down
• I forgot to move my bow sight when we changed distances
• I'm using my spare arrows
• It's a new string
• The string needs replacing
• The bow isn't tuned yet
• Whose bow is this again?
• I've decided to try out spin vanes...
• I thought I'd give this clicker thingy a go
• Rest/clicker/sight/target moved (delete as necessary)
• Ah right, bow sight! I knew that I'd forgotton something!
• Using my indoor arrows/string (outdoor)

• I'm renting the bow
• My string is on the wrong way round
• My foot markers are in the wrong place

• My Equipment's wet from the rain
• I'm wet from the rain
• Look, it's pouring with rain and I can't even see the target anymore nevermind hit it!
• I can't stand upright with all this mud...
• It's too cold - I can't feel my fingers anymore
• Can we go and shoot outside in the snow? This sports hall is too cold!
• I got used to shooting in bad conditions - this sunny weather has put me off
• The sun keeps coming out from behind the clouds and blinding me at full draw
• Poor Atmospherics ... whatever that means

• The string slipped off my fingers
